Think about the last time you needed your keys, wallet or phone before leaving. What happened?

I grabbed them from their usual spot in seconds

I found them within a couple of minutes

I searched several rooms and left late

I was late or missed something because I couldn't find them

Look at your kitchen counters and entryway right now. How much on them has no permanent home?

Almost nothing; everything has a place

A few items, cleared within a day or two

Four or more, or something important

One trusted system I check daily

A system, but I only check it sometimes

Several places: notes, texts, sticky notes

Most of it; I protect time for my priorities

It goes in a pile I clear monthly

I've paid late fees or missed a deadline because of it

I'm not sure I could find it at all

It's still holding; I have a weekly reset

Days; it was back to normal quickly

Set it aside and decide within a day

I'm organizing my own life and home

I'm helping a family member or partner get organized

I'm a professional organizer or coach assessing a client

I manage a team or office and I'm assessing our shared space

A shared office or team (5+ people)
